Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026. Charka is a product of FOB Digital Labs ("we"). This policy says what Charka does with data when a creator connects a YouTube channel to it.
The short version
- Charka is self-hosted. It runs on the creator's own computer or server, and the data it handles stays there.
- FOB Digital Labs does not receive, store or see your Google or YouTube data, your videos or your sign-in tokens.
- Charka uses Google data only to do what the creator asks: publish and update the creator's own videos, and show the creator how those videos did.
- We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
What Charka accesses, and why
When a creator signs in with Google, Charka asks for these permissions. Each is used only for the purpose given.
- Upload videos (
youtube.upload): to publish a video the creator approved to the creator's own channel. - View the YouTube account (
youtube.readonly): to read the channel's name and the status of videos Charka published, for example whether a video finished processing or is still public. - Manage the YouTube account (
youtube.force-ssl): to add captions, mark a video as made with AI, change the title, description and thumbnail of a video Charka published, update the channel's description and keywords, and create playlists and add videos to them. Charka does this only when the creator presses the matching button. - View YouTube Analytics reports (
yt-analytics.readonly): to read results of the creator's own videos (views, likes, comments, watch time, impressions, click-through rate) and show them to the creator.
Charka does not read the creator's private videos that it did not publish, does not read other people's data, and does not post, comment or subscribe on the creator's behalf.
Where the data is kept
- The sign-in tokens Google gives Charka are stored encrypted on the creator's own server, in the creator's own database. They are never sent to FOB Digital Labs.
- Results read from YouTube (numbers such as views and watch time) and the record of what was published are stored in the same database.
- Videos, scripts and pictures Charka makes are stored on the creator's own disk.
Who else receives data
To make a video, Charka sends the creator's text (the topic, the script, picture descriptions) to the AI services the creator chose and configured, such as a text, voice or image provider. That choice and the account with those providers belong to the creator, and each provider's own terms apply. Charka sends them no Google account data and no sign-in tokens. The only other place data goes is Google and YouTube, when Charka publishes or reads results.
Limited Use
Charka's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, data from Google APIs is used only to provide and improve the features the creator asked for, is not transferred to others except as needed for those features or to follow the law, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans except with the creator's consent, for security, or where the law requires.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. The Charka dashboard, which runs on the creator's own server, uses one session cookie to keep the creator signed in to that dashboard.
Your choices and deleting data
- Disconnect a channel: in Charka, open Advanced, then Channels, and press Disconnect. Charka forgets the sign-in token. Videos already published stay on YouTube.
- Revoke access at Google: open myaccount.google.com/permissions, choose Charka and remove access. This works at any time.
- Delete the stored data: because the data is on your own server, you control it. Deleting a project in Charka removes its unpublished videos and its files, and you can remove the whole database and storage folder yourself.
- Ask us: if you believe we hold any data about you, write to [email protected] and we will answer and delete what we hold.
Children
Charka is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. A change in what Charka does with Google data would be stated here before it takes effect.
